Dr Jacqueline Scotcher Bio

Dr Jacqueline Scotcher (Ph.D.) is an artist passionate about how creative practice, philosophy and landscape combine in producing a sense of aliveness.

Jacqueline has completed a Bachelor of Visual Art (SCU), Honours in Creative Industries and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Creative Arts (JCU). Her doctorate research investigated mindful walking and painting as a personal mode to come-to-know the Australian tropics.

Over the past decade she has exhibited, published papers, presented at local and international conferences, lectured at university & conducted workshops; all in pursuit of harbouring meaningful connections through the tenets of art practice.

Jacqueline works from her studio in Mcleans Ridges, NSW, on Bundjalung land. Themes of nurturing sustained attention in a time of increasing distraction currently occupy her making, thinking and sharing.
