Artist Talk with Jess Poulsen: Art as a vehicle for healing

The community are invited to join local artist Jess Poulsen as she talks about process of creating works in the our current exhibition ‘Mending & Tending: Art that works for Nature’. Jess will chat with Anne Leitch and discuss her direct experiences with the power of art to help process trauma, bring healing and help to reconnect with the shifting landscapes of climate change.

BIO - ANNE LEITCH
Anne has a background in coastal science, social science, science communication and has worked in climate adaptation for around two decades. She has worked for CSIRO, the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility and consulted for a range of government agencies and private companies. Her current job is with the Griffith University Climate Action Beacon working on a coastal project.
Anne greatly values her participation in local community activities such as the Bangalow Branch of the CWA and the Byron Masterplan Collective.
She is very interested in creative ways of communicating climate adaptation as a way for individuals and communities to better prepare for change.
