EMILY-SARAH BOLDEMAN BIO

Emily-Sarah Boldeman is an emerging artist based in Byron Bay. She graduated from Sydney College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) majoring in painting in 2001, before pursuing a career in graphic design. In 2023 she completed a three year studio based art course at the Byron School of Art, exploring expanded drawing, painting, film and installation. Her work investigates the bounds of the body in space and seeks to traverse the chasm between self and other. Emily-Sarah asks how we collectively negotiate the shifting grounds on which identity is inacted. Is our experience real, imagined, symbolic or dreamt?

Emily-Sarah has exhibited in Sydney and in Byron and was shortlisted for the Wollumbin Art Award in 2022.

SHANTI DES FOURS BIO

Shanti Des Fours is an emerging artist who lives and works in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Australia. Shanti holds a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Queensland and completed 3 years of study at Byron School of Art in Mullumbimby, NSW in 2021.

Shanti’s practice is concerned with questions of identity, personal histories, beliefs and perception. She investigates these themes by working across multiple disciplines including photography, painting, video, printmaking and installation.

GRACE FAYRER BIO

Grace Fayrer was born in the South East of England in 1992 and immigrated to Australia in 2014. She is now based on Bundjalung Country (Northern NSW). Her practice is concerned with the interplay between short looped digital projection and sculptural structures, exploring the physical and conceptual boundaries of frame and form. Fayrer was the recipient of the Tweed Regional Gallery BSA Graduate Award 2022 and recently completed two years of study at the Byron School of Art, Mullumbimby in 2022. She was selected as a finalist for the inaugural Wollumbin Art Award by Curator Alison Kubler for Tweed Regional Gallery in 2022. In 2011 Fayrer was awarded an Academic Scholarship to study a BA in Fine Art Mixed Media at the University of Westminster, London, completing an Honours Degree in 2014. Fayrer exhibits nationally and internationally.

ISABELL HEISS BIO

Isabell Heiss is an emerging artist who graduated from the Lothar von Faber Schule (Nürnberg) with a Diploma of art and design in 2006. She moved to Australia in 2011 and now works from her studio in Byron Bay. In her practice Isabell engages with questions of identity, memory and relations. She has a strong bond to the elements and her processes include experimental scientific investigations as well as painting, photography, sculpture and video installations. Isabell has exhibited her works in Germany, England, Sweden, Usa and Australia.
