Jim Mitchell was born and raised in a small country town in New Zealand before moving to Wellington to study art.
Travelled to Australia to work as a freelance illustrator in advertising, editorial, publishing and animation and never left. Joined the Mambo movement in 1989, remaining a major contributor until 2001.
Co-founded surf label The Critical Slide Society in 2009, and it keeps Jim awake at night to this day.
